About
Carys Rhian Jewellery creates unique, sustainable jewellery inspired by nature using recycled sterling silver, brass, sea glass and ethical gemstones.
Each piece is thoughtfully designed and handcrafted by jewellery designer and silversmith Carys in her small workshop in Bristol.
I've always been a magpie for jewellery and loved exploring my grandmother's jewellery box of treasures – fortunately, she never minded and I'm now honoured to own some of her most loved pieces.
My silversmithing journey first began in 2006 when I took part in a day class in the Bali, Indonesia and made a silver ring. I absolutely loved the process of working with metal, but it wasn't until a day class in 2016 with the talented Bristol silversmith Alice Goldsack did I rediscover my passion for making jewellery – and I've been hooked ever since!
Now working from my small home workshop, I design and make each piece of jewellery by hand, using a mix of traditional and modern silversmithing techniques. Many of my designs are inspired by my love of nature and I tend to favour a simple, rustic style of jewellery enjoy using natural textures.
Being sustainable is important to me as a maker, so I endeavour to source eco-friendly materials and packaging, and am always looking at ways I can improve my eco-credentials and reduce waste.
Ultimately, I aim to make handcrafted jewellery that can be enjoyed for a long-time and lasts. Have a read of my jewellery care guide for advice on how to prolong the life of your jewellery.
